The basics

What is biofeedback?

Biofeedback uses gentle sensors to measure signals like breathing, heart rhythm, muscle tension, skin temperature and sweat response. You see those signals on a screen in real time.

With Ellen’s coaching, you practice skills like slow breathing, relaxation and imagery, and you watch your body respond.

Over time, those skills become second nature, so you can calm your body on cue, even outside the office.

Skin temperature

Hand-warming training, often used for stress and headaches.

Skin conductance (EDA)

See your stress response as it happens and learn to calm it.

Breathing

Retrain shallow, rapid breathing into slow, steady breaths.

Brainwave training for a calmer, more flexible brain. Learn about neurofeedback.

Questions

Biofeedback FAQ

Is biofeedback safe?

Yes. Biofeedback sensors only measure signals from your body, such as breathing, heart rhythm and skin temperature. Nothing is sent into your body.

What does a session feel like?

You sit comfortably with small sensors on your fingers, skin or around your chest. You watch your body’s signals on a screen and practice calming skills with Ellen’s guidance.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals. Ellen will talk with you about a plan at your consultation. Many skills can also be practiced at home between sessions.

Can I combine biofeedback with therapy?

Yes. Ellen often pairs biofeedback with IFS, hypnotherapy and guided imagery. All therapies are available within her standard session pricing.

Where are sessions held?

Biofeedback sessions take place in person at Ellen’s office at 2770 Main Street, Frisco, TX 75033, just north of Dallas.

Will Ellen’s service dog be there?

A certified service dog attends all in-person sessions. Please let Ellen know ahead of time if you would prefer not to be around her dog.
